River Legacy Teams Up to Teach Water QualityAugust 29, 2012 - An Earth Force partner, River Legacy, teamed up with General Motors and Arlington Independent Schools District (AISD) to get youth out from behind their desks and into local waterways. AISD seventh-graders are learning about water quality and watershed issues firsthand, through the Global River Environmental Education Network (GREEN). “As the program progresses in Arlington, students will develop scientific explanations and a plan of action to share with the Arlington community that will help improve the water quality in the environment in which they live,” said Renee Pope, AISD K – 12 Science/Health Curriculum Coordinator. One of the goals of this incredible partnership is the infusion of GREEN into the entire AISD seventh grade, engaging every student in the district’s 13 junior high schools in quality hands-on science learning.
