Students from Muir Middle School Take Action in the River

Highslide JS
October 22, 2012 - Students from Muir Middle School in Milford, Mich., took action to fight the source of the litter they found during monitoring in the Huron River. Throughout the school year, students worked together to study and improve their community. Based on their studies, Shelly Gustafson's eighth grade class decided to conduct a river cleanup project, with students Trevor Tori and Coleton Dawson taking the lead. The class partnered with Heavner Canoe Rental to complete the cleanup project.

To celebrate and reflect on their success, the students held an ice cream party with their mentors from General Motors.
