"Hands on!" at the SLELC

Date: 20 Oct 2005

GBWAP students from North Shore Middle School spent the day at the Sheldon Lake Environmental Learning Center in the Carpenter's Bayou Watershed. Students participated in four hands-on learning activities designed to give them authentic, practical experience with the concepts learned back in the classroom and to learn more about their local environment. Throughout the day, students were engaged learners in a Water Quality Lab/Field Study, a Terrestrial Habitat Nature Hike/Observation Study, an Aquatic Habitat and Field Methods Study, and an Aquatic Invertebrate Lab Study.

Thanks to all the students and the instructors (Tom, Keith, Ingrid, Rebecca, Fred, and Brent) for making the day a success!
