Four Mile Run Presentation

Date: 16 Aug 2006

During the December 5, 2005 teacher workshop, Bill Hicks from the Northern Virginia Regional Commission joined a group of teachers and students to discuss the state of the waterways in Northern Virginia with a special focus on Four Mile Run.

In his presentation, "How Are Our Northern Virginia Streams & Watersheds Doing?," Bill explores how the local waterways have reacted to the increasing pressures from the population and what citizens can do to have a positive impact in their watershed. A special section explores Four Mile Run, the guiding principles that were a part of its channel construction during the 1970s and early 1980s and the current planning to restore and improve Four Mile Run.
