After learning from a guest speaker from Florida Yards & Neighborhoods about the benefits of rain barrels, students brainstormed ways to get the water conservation message out to their community by creating and selling rain barrels during events around Earth Day.
Students have made flyers, brochures and a power point presentation to educate others about the benefit of conserving water this way.
Ms. Mitchell is funded by the Staples Foundation for Learning and is a 2006 recipient of the SPLASH grant offered by Southwest Florida Water Management District.
