Peabody Recycles!

Peabody Recycles!

Date: 20 Jun 2007

School: Peabody High School

Thirteen students at Peabody High School, who are participating as part of the Earth Force project in collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh's CAST program have been working to make a difference by recycling trash and keeping their school and communities clean. They organized a few events to provide information about recycling and keeping the environment clean. The students' week of events included a recycling Olympics and recycled papermaking. The informative assembly explained why people should recycle and included speeches by a representatives from the Mayor's office, ABITIBI, and the PA Recycling Council, as well as Peabody's own Principal. It was highlighted by a fashion show featuring clothing made from recycled materials.

On the day of the assembly, an ABITIBI paper-recycling bin was placed at Peabody High School. Peabody is well on its way to paper recycling. These upper classmen are leaving a legacy they can be proud of at Peabody High.
