Evaluation Highlights
The Center for Youth and Communities (CYC) at Brandeis University has conducted the Earth Force evaluation since 1997. We have two overall purposes for the evaluation: to improve our operations and to determine the impact of the program on educators and students.

Participants also reported significant gains on a variety of civic skills, including ability to find information, analyze policy, work in teams, and plan a project. Consistent with our evaluation results over the last three years, Earth Force participants showed statistically significant gains in 2005-2006 on the two summary measures of participant attitudes used in the participant surveys – the Earth Force Scale and the Civic Efficacy Scale. Overall, participants showed positive, statistically significant gains on 21 of 27 attitudinal items on the survey.
