The 2007 Youth Voice Launch is for both student leaders and their adult advisers (classroom teachers, club sponsors and mentors)!
At the YVL07, students will participate in hands-on skill-building workshops that address such topics as "Partnering With Adults," "Creating Sustainable Projects," "Team-Building" and "Creating An Action Plan." Students will walk away with a plan for how to take positive action in their school this year!
Educators and advisers who attend YVL07 will help their students generate this action plan, as well as learning more about how to tap into school and community resources that can make their Council stronger! Adult participants will also get valuable tips on how to respect and preserve youth voice in their Council.
WHO CAN ATTEND?
An adviser and two students from your already existing or emerging 3rd – 8th grade student council, leadership club or class
WHERE WILL IT TAKE PLACE?
West High School (951 Elati St.), Community Room
WHAT DOES IT COST?
$25 per school group (one adviser and two students) covers breakfast snacks, lunch, beverages and resource packets for all participants.
