15 Feb 2008- The Earth Force club at St. Anthony Catholic School in San Antonio, made up of 5th-8th grade students, have been exploring ways to make the health of the environment in their community better. Through discussions and research, they have investigated ways to conserve water as well as various recycling efforts.
They are trying to gather and distribute 600 blue recycling bags to the residents of San Antonio to encourage them to participate in the county recycling program. Each bag will be labeled with instructions on what can be recycled and when. These efforts have been designed to help residents participate in recycling in Pasco County without having to buy the bags required for curbside recyclable collection.
Students have also participated in a fundraising t-shirt sale designed to support the protection of rainforests in Costa Rica.
