Nelson Elementary- Christine Perez’s 4th Grade Class

15 Feb 2008- The Fourth grade class, with teachers Ms. Perez and Mr. Terry Senhauser, have chosen to work to develop habitat for native birds on their school ground. Expanding from a previous year’s Earth Force project, the group is looking to enhance the existing butterfly garden in the center courtyard of their campus to include flowering plants and birdfeeders to attract hummingbirds and other species.
The students are now researching what type of plants would be best for their garden while preparing to write a mini- grant to seek money to complete their project.
