Changing the World, One Light Bulb at a Time! was the goal of Brenda Khayat’s class. The students worked hard to raise money and CFLs in order to provide at least one bulb to every student and staff member. CfLs use less energy tan incandescent lights but use 75% to 80% less energy. The energy of these students helped this class reach their goal in only three and a half months. These students may have changed light bulbs but their also changed lives. Bruce, a project participant, said, “Throughout my life I will continue to help the environment. I may even become an environmentalist when I grow up!” Cheyanne Unger wrote, “In the future, I will always use CFLs or any energy saving thing. I pledge to go “green”.”
