Watershed Education at Pfeiffer-Burleigh CHAMPS Program
Danielle Baltes guided the students at the Pfeiffer Burleigh CHAMPS Program . The after-school group studied intensely watershed issues. Experts such as the Erie County Conservation District came in and introduced non point source pollution and best management practices. After investigating their own community they realized that some of the problems existed right in their neighborhood. Litter covers the walkways and lawns and dog waste is nearby. After seeing this the students decided that it was time to educate others about the issues. To do this the students created posters for their school community.
