Maritime Experience

Glenwood Elementary Students from 5th and 6th Grade girls were introduced to the Maritime Life in Erie during four sessions. From visiting the Maritime Museum to exploring the bay on a sailboat the girls learned about the Erie history and current maritime issues. This after school program was sponsored by the American Association of University Women (AAUW). Heidi Steffy, AAUW member told of women who contributed to maritime history and sixteen other members volunteered as mentors.
