On a cold day in January, over 50 Earth Force students, faculty, and volunteers from Creighton Elementary School came together to participate in the national day of service by cleaning up their community. For their Earth Force project, the students at Creighton are focusing on trash and litter and how it impacts their watershed (Tookany Creek). Terry Walsh, the student’s teacher said “it was cold, but the volunteers were able to fill over 20 bags of trash, swept and shoveled snow, and even rescue an injured cat”. This cleanup is just one part of their over all project. The students will doing another cleanup on Earth Day as well as looking for other ways to prevent trash and litter from impacting their watershed.
