Barbara Cole, an Earth Force board member was honored by the Pennsylvania AAUW for her outstanding work in the community.
Barbara Cole received the 2009 Susan K Nenstiel Humanitarian Award from the Pennsylvania State American Association of University Women on April 25, 2009 in Lewisburg,PA and her award was recognized at the AAUW Erie Branch on May 11.
Barbara has been the President for the AAUW, Erie Branch, is a Public Policy representative, served on the Erie Community Foundation board, is a founding member of the Erie Council for Women’s Organizations, a member of the Western Pennsylvania Health Council, Vice president of the Friends of the Tom Ridge Environmental Center and as you know she is serving on the Board of LEA Earth Force.
Barbara also has been instrumental in receiving grants for Earth Force from the AAUW Educational Foundation and from the local branch to sponsor and mentor with other AAUW members events such as Geo-Smart, Aqua-Smart and the Erie Martime History program. All programs introduced inner-city girls to environmental and local issues.
