Ms. Melissa Hunter's 7th science students at Military Magnet Academy have been discussing recycling for an Earth Force project. The students completed a timeline using CHEC materials to look at historical events related to recycling.
After conducting community environmental inventories the students decided that creating a recycling program at school would be beneficial to their school community and the environment. So far, the students have discussed how recycling affects the environment and what items are recyclable in Charleston County.
Their historical timeline includes events related to the packaging of materials, and policies that have changed recycling practices.
