Funding Partners Who Give between $5,000 and $24,999
- The AMGEN Foundation
Financial support from corporate partner AMGEN makes possible the application of our Community Action & Problem-Solving (CAPS) in science classrooms throughout the metro area. Outdoor environmental projects like trail-building at Arvada West High School, the creation of an outdoor learning space at Pinnacle Charter School, and prairie preservation near SkyVista Middle School are great examples of the fusion of service-learning and hands-on environmental education supported by AMGEN.
- The Beim Foundation
A relatively new funder, the Beim Foundation supports our Greenways Project in seven local schools located along watershed areas on the South Platte and Cherry Creek. The Greenways Project promotes student efforts to use CAPS to address environmental and community issues along the greenways that run through Denver.
- The City and County of Denver
The City is a great partner in many senses of the word. In addition to providing funding for many student environmental projects, the City offers our classes a multitude of experts in a variety of community and environmental issues. City employees volunteers many hours each school year to support student-led service projects that deal with issues such as recycling, water quality management and ecological preservation. Funding from the City and County of Denver supports student work in natural areas along Denver greenways.
- The ERM Foundation
ERM Global Environmental Consultations' employee-funded and employee-driven foundation provides financial support for science-based service-learning applications throughout metro Denver. In addition to providing financial support, ERM employees have been enthusiastically involved in several FR Earth Force events, including the Annual Youth Summit and the 2006 Hike for Youth.
-
The Green Fund
Championing the causes about which founder Frances "Kelley" Green was most passionate, the Green Fund supports our innovative approach to hands-on environmental learning, as well as our collaborations with other youth-oriented environmental or outdoor groups.
-
Groundwork Denver
Groundwork Denver partners with FrontRange Earth Force to support the engagement of youth in environmental projects in North Denver. This year, both organizations are partners in Healthy Air for Northeast Denver (HAND) and will collaborate on an EPA CARE grant, which enlists students in addressing issues of indoor air quality in their homes and schools, and environmental quality in their neighborhoods.
- Kaiser Permanente Thriving Communities
(through Denver Urban Gardens)
Funding from Kaiser Permanente Thriving Communities, through our strong partnership with Denver Urban Gardens, supports student service projects that address community health issues throughout selected Denver communities. This includes our on-going work at both Fairmont Dual Language Academy and Fairview Elementary.
- The Rose Community Foundation
The Rose Community Foundation is a well-established supporter of programs that help make the greater Denver community a vibrant and healthy place to live. Funding from the Rose Community Foundation supports FR Earth Force's youth-driven projects that address important community issues throughout Denver, and actively supports our many school-based Student Leadership Action Councils in Denver schools.
- The Sheila Fortune Foundation
Support from the Sheila Fortune Foundation has made it possible for FR Earth Force to promote the use of the arts in the service-learning process. Thanks to this financial support, we are able to better support teachers in using hands-on learning through the visual arts, digital media, theatre and public presentation, and more. Incorporation of such techniques provides more opportunity for students to positively express themselves throughout the CAPS process.
- The Tiger Woods Foundation
In the spirit of its famous namesake, the Tiger Woods Foundation supports our efforts to develop at-risk young people into engaged, caring, motivated leaders in their schools and communities. Funding from the Tiger Woods Foundation specifically supports our Youth Engagement Initiative and the many school-based youth councils we have developed through that initiative.
-
Suncor Energy Foundation
Through its Commerce City facility, Suncor Energy (and Conoco before that) is one of FR Earth Force's oldest supporters. In addition to providing financial assistance for our CAPS projects throughout the school year, Suncor has sponsored our Annual Youth Summit at the Denver Zoo.
- UC-Denver Health Sciences Center
Funding from UC-Denver Health Sciences Center supports our work as part of several community collaborations in support of community health issues.
