13th Annual Youth Summit at Denver Zoo
Summary: 1,000 youth over 2 days will gather at Denver Zoo to present their service-learning projects to each other and the community. They've worked hard all year and now have a chance to tell the rest of us the positive ways they are impacting their schools and communities. Highlights of the day include:
- Interactive service-learning displays
- Speak Out competition (creatve stage presentation of projects)
- Community art project, in partnership with Platte Forum artisits
- Community partner exhibitors
- First ever award for most sustainable presentation
Date: Wednesday, April 21 (middle school) and Thursday, April 22 (elementary school), 2010
Time: 9 am - 1 pm
Location: Denver Zoo, Conoco Zoo Gardens
Summer Institute on Service-Learning
Summary: New and experienced service-learning educators are invited to take part in an intensive look at service-learning best practices for urban students.
- Interactive displays of youth-led projects
