Earth Force Youth Summit

name LEA Earth Force celebrates an annual Youth Summit in both Pittsburgh and Erie. At the annual Summit at Presque Isle State Park over 400 students participate in programs provided by 40 -50 facilitators covering topics such as birding, wetlands, geology, cooperative activities and fishing.

Youth Training Days
LEA Earth Force in Erie provides four youth training days for student representatives from the various project sites. Each project can send 6 – 10 students to explore a watershed topic. Facilitators are professionals from the appropriate field. After the workshop the representatives return to their classrooms and share their gained knowledge with their classmates.

Youth Advisory Board
Pittsburgh is forming its first Youth Advisory Board this year to work specifically on the issue of diesel emissions from buses and their effects on human health.
Erie’s Youth Advisory Board meets monthly throughout the school year and is active in promoting the Earth Force program by participating at various events.
