Read the article by Elyse McMahon, Jr. PLEWA, which was published in the Erie Times News on April 29, 2008: "Plant emissions concern teen". Stephen S., Luther Memorial, Age 14, Grade 8.:"Earth Force is a great organization for people my age. It’s a fun way for us to learn what’s going on in the environment and what we can do to help. With the Earth Force program we also go to youth workshops where we learn about Global Warming, watersheds, and recycling. We just learned about a healthy environment and the human body, Lyme disease and West Nile virus. These workshops teach us to keep the planet healthy, to keep our bodies healthy, and explore possible career opportunities (the workshops are taught by people that work around the certain topics). Earth Force is teaching us how to make a difference and I believe everyone will take something away from this." Annie C., Klein Elementary School, Grade 6 “The Earth Force program is great because then we all know we make the environment better for the next generation. This is important for the Earth, and everyone who lives on the Earth. So everybody needs to do their part.”

We’ve grown in numbers in Southwest PA. This year we have over 1,000 students participating in Earth Force in Southwest PA! We’ve expanded so much that we’ve having two Youth Summits! We want to welcome St. Anne’s School, additional students at both Claysville and Joe Walker Elementary, and the Mrs. Wilds’s 10 graders at City Charter High |

Ladder of Prejudice
19 Feb 2008 -
8th Grade students at JoAnn O’Connell teach other students in their school about the ladder of prejudice. The goal is to open minds to tolerance. This is an important attitude as we try to solve environmental issues and work with people who can have very different views on the topic. More...
