Environmental Youth Council

Lowcountry Earth Force’s Environmental Youth Council (EYC) has a for youth, by youth attitude that empowers the younger generation to know that they too can make a difference in the world. Not only does the council meet every week to discuss local and national issues, but also develops projects and services to help solve those issues. The members work on anything from washing dogs to conducting an energy audit of a national youth conference. In the past, the council has painted murals in Cannonborough Park for the children and passed out handmade treats at the Crisis Ministries. Thus paving the way for bigger and better service opportunities. Within the last year the council has been organizers of the annual Tri-Country Youth Service Day and will be hosting an Oyster Roast and organizing a Budget Ball Tournament.

EYC is a fun and efficient way to be aware of the world while tackling important issues, that if not solved now, our even younger generation will have to deal with. EYC is that voice and will continue to speak for youth as leaders/founders of a for youth, by youth generation

Why should students join?

This is an excellent opportunity for students to become active citizens involved in their community and the environment, learn more about working in the nonprofit world, build their college applications, and make a lasting difference in their communities.
