Staples Urban Environment Challenge Winners 2011June 6, 2011 - We have some winners in this year's Staples Urban Environment Challenge! The Urban Environment Challenge encourages young people in urban communities to take action on pressing local issues created by global climate change. Groups of 5th-9th graders in 10 cities entered youth-led action projects for a chance to win a $1,000 technology package. Five regional winners received a $1,000 package and ten regional winners received $500 packages, customized to the needs of the group.
